How do I book a service with Valeriana?

Our booking platform makes the entire process very easy: In the booking form, select the service you want, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are already working behind the scenes to select the right person for you from our pool of employees. Once we have found a match, we will briefly introduce you to each other and then confirm the date and time.

What services does Valeriana offer?

Cleaning, Sewing, Washing, Pet sitting, Recycling, Holiday service, Errands.

Do I have to insure the person myself?

No, our staff members are employed with us and are well insured, including all social benefits (AHV, IV, EO, ALV, KTG, accident insurance, PK). You don’t have to worry about a thing!

How do I pay?

At the beginning of each month, you will receive an invoice with all the services that you have ordered in the previous month. For the sake of the environment, you will receive this invoice via email. You have 10 days from the receipt of the invoice to pay it back via bank transfer, debit/credit card or Twint.

Who do I contact if I have an issue?

It is paramount to us that both you as well as our employees feel comfortable at all times. This is why we ask you to contact us at the slightest hint of a problem. You can reach us by phone at +41 44 515 45 07 or by email at hallo@valeriana.ch.

What happens in the case of damage?

Our employees are required to report damages to our office on the same day. We will then contact you to record all relevant details. If the damage is not immediately noticed by our cleaner, then please contact us within the next 24 hours via service@valeriana.ch or by phone at +41 44 515 45 07. To ensure smooth processing, please send us pictures of the damage and include the age and value of the damaged object incl. receipt. We are well insured.

How much will it cost me approximately?

For routine maintenance cleaning of a flat, house or office, the booking system estimates 2 hours of work time. Please don’t hesitate to contact us concerning special circumstances or if you have any questions. You can check what’s included in the maintenance cleaning in our terms and conditions.

The hourly rate for cleaning a flat is CHF 46 (excl. VAT for regular bookings). One-time bookings cost CHF 56 (excl. VAT). The hourly rate for cleaning a office is CHF 52 (excl. VAT for regular bookings). One-time bookings cost CHF 62 (excl. VAT). Important: We always bring our eco-friendly cleaning products and materials.

Minimum booking duration is 2 hours.

  • 2-bedroom flat (approx. 45 sqm): 2 hours
  • 3-bedroom flat (approx. 70 sqm): 2.5 hours
  • 4-bedroom flat (approx. 85 sqm): 3 hours

Flat and office with more square metres than above: 4 hours and according to agreement

If there is still time left after the maintenance cleaning, then we will, of course, take care of other tasks, such as cleaning the inside of the kitchen cupboard etc. Our staff works with a checklist that follows 18 steps.

Do I have to provide the cleaning materials?

No, that isn’t necessary. Our staff only use the environmentally friendly cleaning products by Uni Sapon (recommended by Greenpeace and WWF), which they bring themselves. You only have to provide a vacuum cleaner, kitchen towels and a floor mop with a bucket and two microfibre cloths.

Do you offer end-of-tenacy cleaning?

Yes, we also offer end-of-tenancy cleanings, but without a handover guarantee. The hourly rate for end-of-tenancy cleanings ranges from CHF 58 to 78 per hour (depending on the property and level of dirtiness, including cleaning products and materials).

Do I have to be present during the cleaning?

It would make sense for you to be present during the first visit so that you can show our cleaner where everything is. For subsequent appointments, you can also arrange a key delivery if you’re not at home. If you would like to give us your key, then please tell us in advance so that we may arrange it. To establish a relationship based on mutual trust, however, a brief exchange prior to each cleaning would, of course, be very nice.

How much will it cost me approximately?

We charge CHF 46 (excl. VAT) per hour. You can expect a regular load of laundry (colour, black or white), including hanging and drying, to take around 20 minutes. Ironing and folding clothes will depend on the types of garments. Our ladies do everything by hand, so we spare your favourite clothes the process of going through machines!

How much will it cost me approximately?

For sewing and tailoring, we can only offer a precise cost estimate after reviewing the order. Taking in/taking out/mending: trousers, trouser legs, adjusting trouser depth, adjusting suits (sleeves, waistbands, shoulders), skirts, women’s dresses, wedding dresses, women’s suits, blazers, t-shirts, shirts, replacing linings, etc. Here are a few rough cost estimates:

  • Adjusting waistbands — from CHF 35
  • Tightening jackets — from CHF 49
  • Shortening jeans with original hem — from CHF 25
  • Shortening jeans without original hem — from CHF 21

To ensure that the clothes fit right, we can also take measurements at your home. We charge CHF 15 for this service.


For the first visit (to take measurements, discuss details, etc.) we charge an additional CHF 15. However, you can also send your items directly to our seamstress or drop them off at our office in Zurich, Wipkingen.

What recyclables do you collect?

Whether at home or at the office: We can recycle a total of 8 different recyclables for you. We can recycle used glass, PET bottles, aluminium, beverage cartons, batteries (in a battery bag), electronic waste, coffee capsules (separately in a coffee bag) and cork stoppers.

What kind of absence management services do you offer?

Emptying letterboxes, watering plants, airing the house, feeding pets (cats, hamsters, fish, marmosets, etc.), stocking up the fridge and cleaning up before you return. We will be happy to take care of all of these things for you.
